Bon Tool Concentrated Evaporation Retarder
Bon Tool Concentrated Evaporation Retarder
Bon Tool Concentrated Evaporation Retarder is a surface treatment for freshly placed concrete, designed to slow moisture loss on exposed or sunlit pours. When diluted with water at a 9:1 ratio, it forms a thin, uniform film that helps keep the surface plastic and finishable for longer, supporting better curing under challenging UK conditions.
Features
- Concentrated product supplied as a ready-to-dilute solution; mix 1 part concentrate with 9 parts water (9:1 ratio).
- Forms a monomolecular evaporation-retarding film on the concrete surface to slow moisture loss.
- Effective in adverse conditions, including high temperatures, low humidity, strong winds, direct sunlight and heated interior environments.
- Coverage: approximately 2000–4000 sq ft (186–372 m2) per 3.78 L after mixing; approximately 10,000–20,000 sq ft (929–1858 m2) per 18.92 L after mixing.
- Leaves no surface finish and does not interfere with adhesion of subsequent curing or sealing compounds.
- Suitable for freshly placed concrete where extended finishability and reduced surface drying are desired.
Benefits
- Reduces surface moisture loss by about 80% in windy conditions and about 40% in direct sunlight, helping maintain surface plasticity during curing.
- Extends the time the surface remains finishable, supporting smoother, more consistent finishing operations.
- Does not affect the adhesion of later curing or sealing treatments, protecting downstream workmanship.
- Economical coverage at recommended dilutions, making it suitable for larger pours and varied site conditions.
- Designed for UK construction environments where external exposure and drying risks are common.
